Are all the coaches qualified?
Yes, in order to register details as a coach the individual must present proof of attaining relevant coaching qualifications. We also provide the coaches with supplementary education in order to ensure that every coach is delivering sessions of the highest quality.
How many sessions do we need?
Each player can and will need a different amount of training, it is therefore the responsibility of the player and/or their parent to identify what their goals are and through working with the coach they will be able to monitor their progression. Should you feel that the training has reached its plateau then it may be that you should seek another coach to take you further.
What background checks are made?
CRB check, qualification and reference checks.
What are the first aid procedures? Do they hold first aid certificates?
All coaches must have a mobile phone on them at all times. The coaches will have completed first aid training when they gained their qualifications, however we do advise that you discuss this issue with your coach and ensure they are capable to the standards you expect.
What insurance do they hold?
Each coach is responsible for acquiring individual insurance – feel free to request the viewing of the coaches certificates at any time.
Is my child going to be safe?
All coaches are briefed to ensure that the location is safe ie no glass or sharp objects are on the playing field. They must consider all other safety issues ie roads, woods and anything that could put the player in danger. An adult responsible for the player must be present during the training in order to ensure their overall safety.
What ratio can the coach look after?
We range from 1:1 up to 1:16 – however when coaching a group larger than 12 the coach will expect the aid of another person ie teacher, manager. This will vary dependent upon the age of the recipients of the training.

Where does the coaching take place?
Each coach will specify the location that they will conduct the coaching. Alternatively the coach can come to you.
Do we leave our child with the coach?
No, we expect a family member or significant other to be present during all of the training.

What is the overall outcome?
The coach will administer a programme of coaching specific to the individual – we would advise that you request regular feedback from your coach. Should you both feel that you cannot progress any further it may be time to seek another (more qualified) coach who has different ideas to stimulate the learning of the player.
Is this service open to all?
We do not discriminate against ANYONE however should you require training for someone with special needs then you must discuss this with the coach you select and ensure that you are both comfortable with the planned delivery of the training. Should you have difficulty in obtaining a coach then please email Head Office for their assistance.
